Texas Antelope Hunt
Texas Public Land
DescriptionThis outfitter is managing and hunting over 125,000 acres in 6 Texas panhandle counties for White- Tail, Mule Deer, Pronghorn Antelope, Aoudad Sheep, Rio Grande Turkey, Pheasant, Quail, and Dove. He limits his harvest to very few animals off of any of these properties allowing animals to get old and big. This provides hunters the opportunity to hunt large properties with high numbers of mature animals, keeping success percentages very high. He has several ranches that on a given year he may only take one buck for every 8,000 to 10,000 acres. At the same time he has properties with higher concentrations of animals that allows for taking a buck for every 1,000 acres. Comparatively his animal concentration numbers are lower than many parts of Texas or most other parts of North America. The one thing that separates the Panhandle from most other places is the amount of large undivided properties where land is often measured in sections (square miles) rather than acres making game much more manageable than most anywhere. Combining this with world class genetics sets the stage for some of the best trophy hunting anywhere. The topography in the Texas Panhandle is much different than what most people envision when they think of Texas. Terrain ranges from flat short grass prairies, farmland, rough breaks and canyons, rolling sand hills, to hardwood covered creek bottoms with scattered cottonwoods. Overall the Panhandle looks much more like Kansas than most of Texas, with the Kansas border being only 80 miles from this outfitter’s headquarters. All inclusive includes: meals, lodging, guide, skinning, and caping. Pheasant hunts include dinner and lodging only for each hunt day Quail hunts are unguided and include no meals or lodging. Lodging is an additional $75 per day per hunter. HUNT POLICIES: Safety is foremost. Drinking of alcoholic beverages is not allowed until the day’s hunt has ended and the outfitter reserves the right to terminate a hunt if the client is not of safe mind and being. On all big game, a wounded animal is considered as a kill. If you draw blood, it is yours.
