At the end of each day, you can play some pool in the rec room or just unwind by the fireplace. You’ll wake up every morning of your three-day hunt feeling relaxed, refreshed, and ready to get back in action. Terrain and Physical Demands The terrain is a mixture of hills, fields, river bottoms and pastures stretching over several thousand acres. Some of this terrain can pose a considerable physical challenge; being in good shape will be an advantage, as you’ll be able to go anywhere the turkeys go. However, the guides are more than happy to accommodate any level of physical fitness, and being a little out of shape won’t be a big problem. Illinois Turkey HuntingThe Hunt Your Illinois turkey hunting trip will be fully guided, with one guide to each hunter. No more than eight hunters are allowed to hunt each week in order to make sure that you won’t be crowded out of the field. The guides take care of calling during the hunt, but you can certainly call as well. This outfitter averages a 90% opportunity rate. The average Eastern gobbler found here weighs over 20 pounds, with spurs ranging from three-quarters of an inch to one and a half inches long, and beards ranging from eight to twelve inches.
