Giant Coastal Island Black Bear

Description

Prince of Wales Island in southeast Alaska is one of the best areas in North America to harvest a true monster black bear. Over the years we have used two outfitters in the area with incredible success. Every year success rates are at or very near 100%. Most bears measure over 6’6” square and skulls are typically in the 20” range. Every year, a black bear over or near 8 foot is taken on these hunts! This is strictly a spot-and-stalk hunt… no sitting over a bait pile chasing bugs away. You will either be staying in wall tents, strategically located in the heart of the best hunting areas, or on large boats that can move to different areas depending on the hunting conditions. This black bear hunt is a true Alaskan adventure in every sense. The area teams with wildlife such as Sitka black-tailed deer, wolves, whales and bald eagles. You’ll also be setting shrimp and crab pots out which make for unforgettable meals. This hunt is great to share with old friends, but it’s also often been described as “the ultimate father and son trip.” Global Sporting Safaris is arranging these black bear trips for spring and fall 2011. *** Described as “the ultimate father and son trip,” this hunt is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spot-and-stalk black bear on Prince of Wales Island in southeast Alaska.
