Tour around Saigon on motorbike
Ho Chi Minh City was the second most dynamic city in the world in January 2017 according to WEF. The chaotic traffic scenes here can look daunting and exciting at the same time, but it plays such a key role in defining the character of this bustling city. Cars here are too expensive due to taxes and extremely difficult to navigate around the city’s transportation system, which makes motorbikes the optimal choice. There are plenty of options from cheap to high-end, so everybody can pick the right one for their budget. However, the government is planning to cut down on the amount of bikes allowed on the roads due to the amount of congestion in the city. So, this experience will give you a glimpse of what’s it like to move around like a true Saigoneer, before it’s too late!
Being on a bike with your local insider will give you peace of mind in the knowledge that they will look after you and they will always know where they are going. Many tourists fall into the trap of trying to make their own way around town and end up spending too much time wandering around lost, or spending too much money on taxi’s that could take them the wrong way.
One of the best things about personalising your own motorbike experience is that you can combine it with some of the other aspects that the city has to offer. You can request to be taken to on a sightseeing drive, where you can take great photos at the top attractions or check-in at some historical sights. Whatever you want, the local insider is there to cater for your needs, even if you just want to stop for a coffee and relax!\
A guideline 4-hour motorbike experience in the morning:
Have breakfast at a local restaurant in District 1.
Ride around the city centre and see the main sights: Notre Dame Cathedral, Dong Khoi Street, Nguyen Hue Walking street, Bitexco Financial Tower, etc.
Have sit-down Vietnamese coffee outside of Notre Dame Cathedral. A brilliant spot for people watching!
Ride to Thu Thiem bridge - embrace the beautiful view of the city skyline.
End the trip at Chinatown where you can have lunch and walk around to indulge in the local life.
You can also start this trip in Chinatown and end it in district 1. Both are very lively and populated areas, where you can visit the top attractions as well as feel the local vibe. There are a lot of food stores and convenience stores so you shouldn’t go hungry. Beware of scams though because these are the most touristy areas, although this should not be a problem if you have your local insider with you.
