Public Tea To Celebrate Quilters
Fort Robinson State Park will celebrate the many quilters who have donated their creations to be used in the parks’ lodging facilities this summer. A public tea will be held on June 4th from 1-4pm in the Buffalo Soldiers Barracks just west of the park’s headquarters. The event is open to the public free of charge and the quilters have received an invitation to attend. During the past year, a call was put out for people to donate quilts to be used in the fort’s lodging facilities and reached the project’s goal with pledges for about 30. The quilts are being placed on beds in two of the fort’s officers’ quarters. This is a chance for the public to see the quilts before they go on the beds. A Park Entry Permit is required.
