New York Hunter Education Course
Students must complete the required homework and bring it with them to the course to be admitted. Students can access the homework one of several ways. 1) Students can access the homework and student manual via http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/92267.html (Free) OR 2) Students can obtain the homework and student manual from any Regional DEC office (Free) OR 3) Students can complete the homework online at https://www.hunter-ed.com/newyork/ (Fee: $15.00). If students complete the homework online they must print off the voucher at the end of the homework and bring it with them to the course to be admitted. The building is handicap accessible. Special needs can usually be adapted to.

About New York Department of Environmental Conservation
Hunter Education is required for all hunting licenses, including bowhunting. This course covers firearms safety, hunting techniques and responsible, ethical hunting practices.NOTE All courses require the completion of homework prior to attending the course. If you do not complete the homework you cannot complete the course. IMPORTANT MINIMUM AGE FOR COURSE: 11 YEARS (Minimum age for a license is 12 years).REQUIREMENT ALL STUDENTS UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE MUST bring a Permission Slip (PDF) (54 KB) signed by a parent or legal guardian.
