New York Hunter Education Course
Course starts promptly at the times shown. PLEASE PLAN ON ARRIVING 15 MINUTES BEFORE START TIME. 7/27 Class - BRING YOUR COMPLETED HOMEWORK. YOU WILL NOT BE ADMITTED WITHOUT YOUR COMPLETED HOMEWORK. You will also need a pen or pencil. 7/29 Class - This will be a full day of inside and outdoor activities. We will be outside. Wear boots. Bring insect repellent. Bring a lunch and something to snack on during the day AND drink. If you have ANY special requirements and/or limitations, please call me at 518 469-5790 prior to the course. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT: Students can complete the homework one of several ways. 1) Students can access the homework sheet and manual from http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/92267.html (Free). Bring the completed homework sheet to the July 27 class. OR 2) Students can obtain a homework sheet and manual from any Regional DEC office (Free). Bring the completed homework sheet to the July 27 class. OR 3) Students can complete the homework online at https://www.hunter-ed.com/newyork/ (Fee: $15.00) If students complete the homework online they must print off the voucher at the end of the homework and bring it with them to the July 27 class to be admitted.

About New York Department of Environmental Conservation
Hunter Education is required for all hunting licenses, including bowhunting. This course covers firearms safety, hunting techniques and responsible, ethical hunting practices.NOTE All courses require the completion of homework prior to attending the course. If you do not complete the homework you cannot complete the course. IMPORTANT MINIMUM AGE FOR COURSE: 11 YEARS (Minimum age for a license is 12 years).REQUIREMENT ALL STUDENTS UNDER 16 YEARS OF AGE MUST bring a Permission Slip (PDF) (54 KB) signed by a parent or legal guardian.
