Mentored Youth Waterfowl Hunt
Calling all budding duck and goose hunters, aged 12-15! Here's an opportunity to experience the thrill of waterfowl hunting in a safe and controlled environment. The event costs $10. Additional details: Hunter’s Breakfast served in the Longhouse before the hunt – Don’t be late, you don’t want to miss this delicious start to your day! Two youth will be teamed with an experienced waterfowl hunter and a conservation officer to serve as mentors. Youth and mentors will be assigned to blinds in the 88-acre controlled waterfowl hunting area at Chichaqua Bottoms Greenbelt Mentors will provide dogs, decoys, calling skills and guidance. Youth must provide waders, firearms, and ammunition (These can be provided by sponsors if youth do not have. Ammunition must be steel shot). Door prizes will also be provided. These programs are designed to provide the student with advanced knowledge and training on a particular topic of interest in order to further their understanding and success in the hunting field. Advanced Skills and Opportunities classes are typically one day in length and are held throughout the state. Some classes require an additional charge for materials and supplies. If a class requires an additional charge, it will be indicated in the special instructions section prior to completing the class registration process. All charges must be paid upon arrival to the class in the form of cash or check. Minimum age to register will vary upon the class type. Be sure to review the special instructions section during the registration process for any restrictions.
