"Masterclass Spanish Dry Fly and Spanish Nymph Fishing Class and Workshop" that is being hosted by IB FLYFISHING and Eastslope Distributors Ltd. It consists of 4 hours classroom (theory) and 4 hours on the water, (practicum).
A second event will be available (under a seperate Eventbrite page) for those that just wish to attend the theory section (does not include the practicum). Gary Hanke will be the host and the MC for this class.
This is unlike any other techniques used in North America and has proven itself to gold medal finishes at the World Fly Fishing Championships several times over the past 5 years. Our class instructor is none other than David Arcay.
David started fishing at the age of 4 in Coruna, Spain. Eight years later he took part in his first fly fishing competitions and very soon won the Spanish Youth Fly Fishing Championships, making the selection to represent Spain at the international stage. His passion and commitment to the sport eventually led him to winning the individual gold at the 2012 World Championships in Slovenia. In 2015 and 2016 he added two more world golds, this time as a member of the winning team Spain. All of this, by the age of 27…
Advanced Spanish Fly Fishing Techniques
The Spanish have been very successful at major international tournaments, including back to back world championship titles in 2015 and 2016. Their success, especially on rivers, has shown very convincingly that Spanish nymphing and dry fly techniques continue to produce in the most challenging conditions when nothing else does. Do they work in North America? Consider this: in 2016 the Spanish team arrived in Colorado without prior US experience and took the World Championship title outfishing anglers with years of experience on local waters, including the US and Canadian teams…Take the opportunity to learn about the Spanish way to fly fish!
