Hunter Education Classroom Course
PATUXENT RESEARCH REFUGE presents a 2017 classroom style Hunter Safety Course: If you are registered for a class and you cannot attend, please cancel your spot there is an active waiting list and that will allow someone else to register for the class. 1. Tuesday and Thursday evening classes will be located at the National Wildlife Visitor center 10901 SCARLET TANAGER LOOP in Laurel MD 20708. You should arrive at 5:30 pm for this class. 2. Maximum class size is (30) students. 3. You must successfully complete a 50 question Maryland specific exam with a minimum score of 80%. 4. You will participate in field exercises which will include a safety trail, firearms handling and live firing. You will be evaluated in each of these activities. These activities take place outside so dress accordingly. No sandals or flops allowed. 5. Students will not bring firearms or ammunition to the class. Firearms, ammunition, Eye and ear protection will be furnished. 6. Upon successful completion of all of the above and the approval of the instructors you will be issued a Certificate of Competency in firearms safety and in safe hunting practices which will allow you to purchase a hunting license. 7.Saturday students should bring insect spray. Students may bring snacks and bottled water to class No Colored Drinks.
