Come celebrate the Fort Robinson History Center’s 60th Anniversary on June 3 and 4, 2016. All anniversary events are free and open to the public! Friday – June 3, 2016 Learn more fascinating Fort history through spoken and written words! 4:30-6:00pm – Public Presentations at the Buffalo Soldiers’ Barracks Welcome and Introduction of speakers by Mike Smith, Director/CEO Nebraska State Historical Society “Fort Robinson’s Museum: Touchstone to the Past”, Jerome A. Greene “Remington Called Them Buffalo Soldiers”, John P. Langellier 6:00-7:00pm – Ribbon-Cutting and Book-Signing at the Fort Robinson History Center Saturday – June 4, 2016 Enjoy special tours interpreting these important Fort sites! A park map is available at the History Center. 8:30-5:30 – FREE ADMISSION throughout the day at the Fort Robinson History Center Special Tours/Presentations by NSHS staff 9:00am – Red Cloud Agency/POW Camp tour with Randy Kane. Meet at the RCA/POW sites. 10:00am – Post Cemetery with Jim Potter. Meet at cemetery site. 11:00am – Cheyenne Breakout and Death of Crazy Horse: History Archeology with Mike Smith and Rob Bozell. Meet at the log barracks, 1874 parade ground. 1:00pm – Archeology of the Buffalo Soldiers’ Barracks with Rob Bozell. Meet at the barracks. 2:00pm – Blacksmith/Harness Repair shops with Jim Potter. Meet at the shops. Open for self-guided tours all day. A Park Entry Permit is required.
