Description

$10 fee per student. Check-in for the class starts at 8:30 a.m. Please be on time. Students 10 to 17 must be accompanied during the entire class by a parent or a mentor who is at least 18 years old. No exceptions. Please bring a sack lunch, pen, paper, and hi-liter. The final exam will be Sunday at the Chilson Center. Afterwards, the range qualification will be held at Noble Archery at 880 Van Buren in Loveland. Students will need their own transportation. Students will receive a green Colorado Bowhunter Education card after completing the class. It is optional for qualifying archers to travel to the outdoor Lon Hagler range to shoot after completing the class. Call Jim Merriott with questions at 970-692-3535 or 720-383-8908. A bowhunter hunter education card can be used as valid proof of hunter education for an archery only license. It is not valid proof to purchase a rifle license or a license where the method of take isn't specified (i.e., turkey or small game). Bowhunter education is considered an advanced hunter education course and is not mandatory to purchase an archery license in Colorado. This card also allows students to purchase archery licenses in other US states that only accept bowhunter education for archery licenses.

About Program

Bowhunter education is not a required course in Colorado, but is offered as an opportunity to learn additional skills. It is offered as both a traditional class, and as an online bowhunter course + conclusion class in limited parts of the state. A bowhunter education card can only be used to purchase an archery-specific license, and cannot be used to purchase non-specific licenses such as turkey or small game.
